Trevor Booker was named to the USA team for the World University Games this summer. He was among 12 players selected to compete for Team USA. Booker and Deon Thompson were the only two ACC players selected to the 12-man roster. The World University Games will be held July 2-11 in Belgrade, Serbia. Team USA’s first game will be Friday, July 3 versus Finland. Also chosen for the American squad Thursday following trials in Colorado Springs, Colo. were: Talor Battle of Penn State, Evan Turner of Ohio State, Corey Fisher of Villanova, Lazar Hayward of Marquette, Robbie Hummel of Purdue, James Anderson of Oklahoma State, Craig Brackins of Iowa State, Da'Sean Butler of West Virginia, Quincy Pondexter of Washington and Jarvis Varnado of Mississippi State. The team will be coached by the trio of Bo Ryan (Wisconsin), Frank Haith (Miami), and Rob Jeter (Milw-Wisconsin).

In basketball news, Noel Johnson of Fayetteville, GA was scheduled to visit Clemson today. He is expected to make a decision on Friday. Johnson has been recruited by Clemson since his tenth grade year, but this will be his first up-close visit to Tiger Town. This season Johnson averaged 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists per game.

Update: Reports are circulating that Johnson has narrowed his choices to Clemson and LSU. His father said that he will have a decision around 6:30pm. His visit went well and he met with several of the players and the academic support team.
